The graphics are good, the story starts out pretty good too. The voice acting however ruined the game for me, so much so that i almost didn't finish it. there is the Russian that sound like a mix of a newyorker and a Sicilian. The old Irish barkeep that actually say something and follows it up with ...man! like a teenager. The expedition veteran that does his best Sean Connery impersonation, it feels like the programmers did the voice acting them selves, with out any guidelines to follow, its relay that bad. The ending blew it for me too, but that might just be a personal perspective.

Secret files: Tunguska is a thoroughly enjoyable point and click adventure, along the lines of the Broken Sword series, but not so cartoony. You have the hero and heroine duo, mysterious sects, globe trotting and a plethora of crap jokes.
The graphics are outstanding and it's easy to interact with the crisp and realistic scenery as the game takes you to many locations, such as Russia, Germany and South America. There's plenty of puzzles to keep you busy, most of them having a completely bizarre solution. Perhaps more bizarre than the puzzles is the voice acting. Nina, for instance, despite discovering her father has been kidnapped by dark forces who probably want to do her in as well, sounds throughout the game as if she has just won the lottery, "la la la" all the way. And everyone is American. Even in Siberia, Moscow and Ireland.
I was glad to see in the credits there's a sequel due in 2008, if it's half as good as this, it'll be worth it.

Aren't you tired of reading 5 star reviews? Yes, so am I. It feels like everything in this world is made perfect nowadays, whether is music, books, movies, games, you name it. Ehmm, no. Back to reality again.
Tunguska: Secret files is a game that's more similar to "Sam and Max" rather than X-Files, if you know what I mean. If you don't, let me explain this to you: The game is nowhere "serious" and "mystique" as the cover tries to show, but rather a teen adventure packed up with lines that are supposed to be humourous, but the're not, and a whole lot of movie cliches. There is no really depth into the story, but rather the game is concentrated on Nina's journey throughout the world, and the obstacles she meets on the way (puzzles). I don't think that I'll spoil anything for you if I say that the game is pretty much about a pretty young girl, trying to save the world from bad villains! Hmmm, haven't I seen this before? Yes I have, a numerous times!
This is really a puzzle oriented game, or rather say, an inventory oriented game. 'Cause that's really what is all about: Making every single combination possible of your inventory items and "hot spots" so that to progress the story (and Nina to a next room). Sure, most times the puzzles seem logical, but there is a thin line between logic and stupidity in this game. I haven't made a big use of hints, mainly because all possible inventory compinations always got me somewhere.
So, we have stupid puzzles, a teenage hero which tries to be cool and funny (but she's not), what else, what else? Something is missing, isn't it? Of course. Let's put a bunch of terrible voice actors, and the cake is done. I swear I could have acted better, eventhough English is not my native language! These guys were so bad that I couldn't even laugh at the bloopers (after the credits).
The Rest: Graphics are pretty, places are plenty (but small), game is linear and pretty much easy, the music just isn't there, and this pretty much sums it up.
Now, you may be surprised if I say that I did enjoy the game, all things considered. But I enjoyed it in the way I would enjoy a teenage comedy movie maybe, or a mediocre James Bond movie, and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. There are a whole lot of better adventure games out there (most of them at least 5 years old), but if other reviewers convice you to buy it, then do so. But then I'm not gonna be the one who said "I told you so".
Now, I have to come up with a rating...Hmmm, that can be tricky.

Have just finished this brilliant game....not too easy ...not too difficult and quite funny in parts. Only minus point is that its quite short. It would be a great game for those new to point and click. Hopefully they'll bring out Tunguska2 soon.

I really enjoyed this game, it is in the classic point and click format that I enjoy with some good puzzles. The story is enjoyable and the graphics and cut scenes are good. It is not a particularly taxing game, if you like really difficult puzzles you might not enjoy this, but I found the game addictive and very difficult to tear myself away from. Can't wait for the sequel.
