Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell: Few kids films can be as well suited to video game immortalisation as Cars and just for once a movie license-in hasn’t just been used for a cheap cash-in. Think Ridge Racer, Jr. and there’s plenty to enjoy here for both adults and children. The lowdown: When you’ve got a movie populated solely by talking cars it at least means there’s no need to turn the game into yet another third person platformer. Instead you take the role of stock car Lightning McQueen in what is actually a sequel to the movie’s plot, as he works his way up the racing leagues. Whether there’s someone driving Lightning or not he still handles like any other arcade racer, complete with a handy powerslide. The artificial intelligence of the other cars can seem a bit too willing to let you win in the early stages but there are separate kids and adults modes to ensure all ages get a decent challenge. Most exciting moment: Although it’s not quite Grand Theft Auto the game features a surprisingly large game world for you to explore, with wide open canyons and towns filled with tons of side quests and mini-games to ignore or enjoy as you please. Since you ask: Almost the entire voicecast of the movie reprise their roles, recording original dialogue just for the game. This includes Owen Wilson and, in his first ever role in a video game, the legendary Paul Newman. The bottom line: One of the best movie tie-ins for a while and a decent little racer. HARRISON DENT

Pretty decent! October 29, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a pretty decent game. The tracks are fun, the graphics are great and the cars are a refreshing and fun change from the likes of Ridge Racer. The lack of free roam does make it similar to other racing games, but the actual races and cars make up for it. Definetly worth the money!
Loved by kids! August 1, 2006 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
Bought this game for my Grandson's birthday. He loves it as CARS is his favourite movie just now. It will still be a really good racing game even after all the CARS hype is over though. All the character cars from the film to race. Not too easy therefore makes for better playing and longer lasting with over 25 races. Has 15 playable characters. I enjoyed playing it too!!! A game for 1 but can play with 2-4 friends as wireless compatible. Good Disney PSP racing game.
Great film, ok game July 29, 2006 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
ok, so the psp virsion isnt nearly as good as the pc/console virsions as there isnt much story line and no driving around radiator springs. the console story line revolves around mcqueen training to win the piston cup from chick hicks who won it in the film, where as the psp story is all about racing and beating DJ, Boost, wingo, and snot rod who came to RS to cause trouble. over all a good game but is actually quite challanging as the other cars ai is very good and they wont let you win without a fight, and the races do get repetative after a while. Impressive cut scenes too.
