1 out of 5 stars vegas 2 more of the same   June 14, 2008

ive played the first and now second installments to the RSV series and both are imressive, tactical andgood looking games.

however the new RSV2 game is pretty much the same as RSV1. the graphics are the same, the gameply is the same, etc. this is not such a bad thing as when RSV1 came out it was the best first person shooter on next gen consoles. but when youve played games like COD4 already out and with RSV2 almost identical abitities to shoot through walls or to sprint, RSV2 just looks a little tired when compared to the ( in my opinion the better ) COD4 game.

the online multi player mode is very good. it is a vast proggresion of vegas 2 with true "jump-in" two-player co-op. plus extra terrorist hunt missions, 13 new maps and 2 new game types, will have you coming back for more. but it just isnt as addictive as COD4, and has less features.

if you played the first vegas gamme chances are whenn you play this one itll be a major case of dejavu and will feel exactly the same, and when compared to COD4 its just not up to par.

overall-1/5

storyline-1/5
grphics-2/5
gameplay-2/5
online-1/5
fun-1/5

2 out of 5 stars Oh so very very dull   June 2, 2008
A lot of games are being based on the unreal engine these days, which means that a lot of games have very similar gameplay.

V2 has a very slick firing from cover system that is very good, but I found it hard to play for any length of time because it was just so dull. The story line is pathetically meaningless and vague and the online multiplayer suffers from the same sanitisation.

It is a technically well put together game, just really dull. $49.99 RRP? What were they thinking.

3 out of 5 stars Deja Vu   May 30, 2008

When the original Vegas game was released, it was one of the first "next-gen" games I played and I was blown away. I though it looked great, sounded great and more importantly was brilliant to play. The biggest problem with this sequel is that it is exactly the same as the first one. Apart from the ability to run I can't see anything different. Obviously it is played out in different parts of Vegas, but, because it runs on the same engine everything looks all too familiar.

If you haven't played the first Vegas then I would just buy that as it will be a lot cheaper than this. If you have played the first, then I would definitely wait until this drops to around the 20 mark before purchasing. It is still a brilliant game but it just doesn't feel as if there has been any progression made from the first to justify a 40 price tag.

5 out of 5 stars Better than the first   May 17, 2008

Bad points:
1. The map (a useful tool for locating enemies) has moved from L2 to Select so its difficult to keep your finger on it whilst doing other things
2. Much easier than the first so you dont feel like your achieving anything but then you can bump it up to the highest difficulty

Good points:
1. Everything that was good about the first one
2. You can edit your character, changing his/her face, clothes and fitting him/her with different types of armor
3. Experience points are needed to unlock weapons (a bigger selection this time), clothes and armor. XP points make you feel like your working for something and will make you replay again on harder difficulties
4. You can sprint in this one
5. Easier to see enemies so you can take out a whole room without being seen
6. Graphics have improved from the first game
