2 out of 5 stars 'Raw 2' a.k.a 'Raw poo'   March 19, 2006

When first purchasing this game, I thought I was getting a bargain. However, this game is highly flawed and I was really disapointed. The fighting is slow and unresponsive, and the menu music annoys the hell out of you after 10 minutes. The only good aspect of the game is the Create a character in which you can create a character, (duh! atleast something is right) I would stay well away from this game, unless it is your only option.

5 out of 5 stars A good game   August 28, 2005

Even though I am only 12, I am a wrestling video game fanatic. I have played at least 3 WCW games and at least 5 WWE/WWF games. With WWE RAW, I thought, this game has to be better. This game shocked me. For weapons you have Tables, bowling balls, kendo sticks, samuri sticks, chairs, ladders, barbed wire 2x4, baseball bats and ring steps! In hell in a cell mode, you can chokeslam or powerbomb a guy through the cell! In modes, they have Normal, Hardcore, TLC, Ladder, Street Fight, Tables, Cage and hell in a cell, Royal rumble, king of the ring and tournament! As you may have read in previous reviews, the ladder match sucks. That is true. The create a superstar mode is the best I have ever wittnessed. The Entrance options are phenomenal. You can even put your own entrance theme song! If you are band and wrestling fans, you can record your own music on a cd, save it on the Xbox, and have it as your superstar's very own theme song! How cool is that! I played the game with my cousin, who is not a big wrestling fan, and we spent two whole days playing this game without sleeping! GO RIGHT THIS MINUTE TO THE RENTAL STORE AND BUY THIS GAME! Listen to this review!

4 out of 5 stars Multiplayer rules   May 3, 2005

I cant help but feel that people have been really unfair on this game. Ok, all the faults that people have described are there. The career mode is appaling, the AI is non-existent, you cant win ladder matches etc etc. BUT, and this is a big BUT, when playing in multiplayer with friends this game is SO MUCH FUN. The controls take a while to get used to but once you do you'll find yourself performing hurracanranas, frog-splashes and belly to belly suplexes without even having to think about it. The most important feature is that you can dodge almost any move by pressing the B button at the right time, leading to some very realisitic and impressive reversals and series of moves. At the end of the day nothing is more satisfying than doing a superplex or an Angle slam from the top rope on your friend, sending him/her crashing through a table. If you're a wrestling fan and frequently play multiplayer games there are few things more fun than beating your mates in a hardcore match then gloating over them as you get the three count.

1 out of 5 stars Hmm...   January 22, 2005

Straight to the point this is probabily the worst wrestling game of all time. I'd rather play WWF In Your House than this. The game as a whole is riddled with bugs. Here are a few :
1) Can't win ladder matches. My record is holding onto the dangling belt for 10 minutes before restarting.
2) In story mode you can make enemies, good. Well, it would be if they didn't always beat up player 1 during matches.
3) CAW is probabily the best one of all wrestling games, but you can make little people that levatate and can't be grabbed.
4) In story mode, Dave beat Brock for the title, YAY!! But cos Shawn interfered in the match he got the title :/
5) It freaked out my Dolby Digital Decoder...

None of the other wrestling games have such bugs. But I do have to admit the story mode is multiplayer, good laugh, which can only be topped by WrestlemaniaXIX's.

So, hmmm...

2 out of 5 stars Horrible & Sickening. Creating a wrestler is good though.   December 28, 2004

Any wrestling game on the xbox should be great. The console has the ability to create amazing graphics (Halo2, KOTOR, Splinter Cell, etc) and is simply a super computer that doesnt crash all the time. So there is no excuse for a game to be so bad, that it almost hurts to play. Raw 2 has a pathetic gameplay, the characters move so slowly that if they moved any slower they wouldn't be moving at all. They all have a very simliar set of moves, Scoop slam, suplex, 'club to back of head'. And for gods sakes, Lita cannot grab rikishi by the hair and throw him around in a 'giant swing'.
The graphics are reasonably good, and the create a wrestler is the best feature. You can alter any wrester and create a completely new one, and alter their entrance and include any music on your xbox hard disk. Thats about as good as it gets.
Too many times, HHH will be challeged by Jazz in a ladder match and lose, because the Ladder matches are almost impossible to win. Too many times your match will be interfered with by your enemy, who will run down to the ring and then attack your oponent, and not you. And far too many times, you'll hit Spike Dudley with a sledgehammer, a steel chair, a 2x4 wrapped in barbed wire and then powerbomb him through a table, and he'll stand up again and powerbomb you right back. Even if your the Big Show. I remember this one time i fought the Rock for 1 hour on Hard, and in the end i just gave up because he just would not stay down. And even when he was down for more than three seconds, there was the Referee to deal with. You have your openent pinned and the referee stands there and looks at you. Then walks over and counts one.....two...<5 seconds pass>.....Two Count as they kick out.
It's actually insulting that the xbox has such potential, but people in charge can't look at good games like 'Here comes the Pain' and incorporate some aspects into these games. In Raw, there is no back stage fighting. The Cell cannot be walked all the way around. There is no elimination chamber. There is no first blood match. (no blood at all). There is no last man standing match, iron man match, casket, buried alive..... Its just awful. But you can play a 1vs1 harcore, street fight, cage, cell, battle royal. Basic matches centered around the squared circle. And the weapons do little or no damage at all. And the referee is rubbish. And the interference is a joke. Along with the npc's ability stand up immediately after any degree of punishment.
