One of the best books I've ever read! December 11, 2005 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
A brilliant story in which some bits were surprising and some bits were exciting and some bits were even upseting but all-in-all a brilliant story in which it will keep you wanting to read on and never put it down. Street child was the most touching book I've ever read in fact it was one of the best books I've ever read!
Street child February 19, 2003 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This book is a terrific adventure story based on a young orphan boy who ran away from the workhouse after his mother died. Reading about it was enough to arouse my interest and my sympathy. The book is based on a true characters which were rescued by the charity of Barnados because of this it makes the book very compelling and a hear warming novel. Highly recommended !
A sad story but also exciting. March 21, 2002 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
The book is sad because Jim Jarvis goes through a lot of beatings. It is also exciting because Jim goes on adventures which lead him either into sadness or happiness. When we read this book we felt as though we were going to cry in some parts or laugh out loud in others. By Susan and Stephanie
It was not the best book I have read. March 21, 2002 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
It was ok but in some parts it was boring like when Jim started skipping for Rosie and when he stayed in the shed. The most interesting part was when Jim escaped from Grimy Nick and Snipe. For people who like that kind of story, it is ok. From our point of veiw it was not the best story we have read. Kathryn & Rebecca
