Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A concise and informative French Phrasebook   March 27, 2003
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

Whether you are new to the French language or have prior experience in talking french, this book contains everything you need to know, from basic pronunciation to different dialects. Not only does it contain all of the phrases and situations that you would expect from a phrasebook, it also has a lot of subjects that you would not expect to be in a basic text book. For example: How to ask for contraceptives, or how to ask for assistance if you are disabled. I this book is concise and it fits in lots and lots of phrases for each subject. It has a handy French-English and English to French dictionary in the back and also tables of the most commonly used verbs. It is a very modern book and with that in mind, I would say it is one of the best French phrasebooks I have ever read and is essential reading for people who are going to France.
