Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Not quite as good as Bonne Courage   March 25, 2008

Firstly lets hope Amazon get around to publishing this review - the last five I have written on my purchases from Amazon seem to to have disappeared into a black hole somewhere, but of an insult to their customers who take the time to write reviews I think.

Anyway onto Bonne Chance - this is obviously the follow up to Bonne Courage and takes up the tale as Richard and his wife start to properly settle in their new French home. Unfortunately this one feels a bit like it has been written for the sake of it. It is a bit disjointed in parts and quite depressing in others _ I won't spoil the read by divulging on why and how things go for Richard but it is all a bit negative, with only the slight glimmer of hope right at the end (cue for another book me thinks).

The humour doesn't seem to carry through to this chapter in his life in France (given the events perhaps understandable), you can't help but think he wouldn't have been better off just leaving it at Bonne Courage and not bothering with this one.

Don't get me wrong it's OK but it certainly won't leave you wanting to up sticks and move to France like the first book in the series did.

Only just three stars I'd say.....
