| Customer Reviews:
Reasons to be a Terrorist February 8, 2007 The circumstances which led to the 1905 Revolution in Russia were, as all circumstances are, unique to their time and place. However, the insights which this closely observed piece of theatre gives into the minds and souls of a group of committed terrorists provide much food for thought.
Camus brilliantly dissects his characters' motives for stooping to assassination. Some are driven by hopes of a better world ("Russia will be beautiful!"), others by hatred and the desire for revenge. The moral and psychological clash between the members of this tightly-knit group, the strong bonds of love and friendship between them and the soul-searching to which their actions give rise have much to teach us about what may be driving modern manifestations of destructive violence.
