Terrific as a serious overview August 3, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a really great book the only really serious overview of this subject and its history at all. I should know I am doing this subject for a year three dissertation and have read them all. Fantastic research and really well written. If you are genuinely interested in modelling this is the starting point and only real "textbook" out there. If slightly dated you can update with good biogs like the recent Vermorel one on Kate Moss. A word of warning get the hardback version which I got through amazon and NOT the paperback which is unfortunately in my college library as the paperback has lousy pictures and NO INDEX!! Plus the hardback is easier to read while you need a magnifying glass for the paperback!
Modelling Industry in the old days June 14, 2006 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book went into detail on the modelling industry from the 1940's onwards. The details on todays models & supermodels only made up a small section of the book. I would have preferred to have more recent information and stories of the well-known models around today as opposed to detailed information about John Casablancas, Gerald Marie and the Fords and their involvement in the industry.
