Not Fantastic August 11, 2005 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
As an a A level student I found that this book, although on the whole very useful, there were flaws in the writing of it. Also the answer key is at the back of the book which for students is very tempting to just look at the answers and therefore not fully understand what we are learning. When we are faced with three hours of homework a night this seems the easy option. Overall though all of the tenses that you need to know are covered in a concise way with revision exercises and examples after the section
This grammar book is a must for anyone studying the language April 3, 2001 22 out of 29 found this review helpful
The easy layout of this book enables you to find out any of your grammatic queries. Everything can be easily comprehended, partly because each section of grammar is in a manageable chunk, but also as each detail is, generally, well explained. I thoroughly recommend it.
I have found a few grammatical errors in this book. January 22, 2000 20 out of 27 found this review helpful
I have found that though generally the book is quite useful for the explanations of Spanish grammar and exercises, there are a few mistakes on some of the exercises. One I found in the section of personal pronoums,(p.66) another one in the phrasing of an exercise which says tanto instead of "tan" (p.178). I have not used all the book yet, but possibly I could found still more errors. This is very irritating because, in my position, as a teacher, I must warn the students of these errors and this can cause confusion on their already insecure foundations of the Spanish language.I think the editors should have been more careful a should have made a more detailed study of the use of the language on some of the exercises.
