5 out of 5 stars 501 French Verbs   July 12, 2002

I started to learn French at the Richmond Adult College at the tender age of 64 (yes sixty four).I bought the usual range of dictionarys from pocket size up to Larouse Standard French Dictionary and Collins Robert French Concise Dictionary, but found I was having an uphill struggle.
One day I was browsing through the French Dictionaries at the Richmond branch of Waterstones when I spotted this this book.A quick look through it was all I needed for me to immediately buy it.From that day on I never looked back.
I will admit that I am far from being anything like fluent in French,i.e.I cannot hold a full "general" conversation with a French speaking person but I can go anywhere in France, ask a question when I go shopping or travel about(and get lost!)and be able to understand the response.

I would also like to recommend that this book should be bought for every child studying French at school. It not only has 501 pages of verbs with each verb shown in up to 14 tenses(it has 14 tenses of something that is very close to all British people,"il pluet (encore)" "it's raining (again)"! ),but also has another 186 pages of usages etc. of the verbs shown.

I bought one for one of my grand-daughters and she is always getting very high marks for every French test/examination she takes at school.
Regards
Ron Kilsby.
