I spotted the latest book in the airport last night to came on here to buy it, spotted this book too and was delighted that someone told me it was the American version of merde actually...I would have wasted my money! It is a great read though, had me laughing out loud on several occasions!

5 out of 5 stars Very funny but beware!!   August 11, 2007

Get it right - this is the American version of 'Merde Actually', and not as someone else says that book and 'A Year In The Merde' in one volume. Like other people I bought it thinking it was something new and felt a bit cheated. But, I'm sure it's really not the author's fault if the Americans change the name of one of his books. I just wish Amazon would be more upfront about it. This said, I love the book itself. It's a hilarious sequel to the first novel. I gave the american book to a friend for his birthday and he was delighted. I think he's going to buy 'Merde Actually' next : ) PS I just noticed there's a warning from the publisher above all these reviews. Not big enough, I say, but still not the author's fault.

Having read Year in the Merde and Merde Actually I was looking forward to this new book only to find that it is the two previous books in one!

Everything was a repeat of things which happened in the other 2 books.

I feel that the author has cheated me and will not be buying any more of his books.

I have rated this as 1 star simply because I cannot post the review with no text in the field ie NO stars.

4 out of 5 stars A worthy sequel   December 14, 2006

Though not quite as laugh-out-loud enjoyable at its predecessor, this is a fun and lively book. Perfect to stash in your carry-on for a vacation in France. I'm looking forward to more from this talented author.
