Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Very easy to use and understand grammar book   December 31, 2007
Whilst the book may not be the most comprehensive or in depth grammar book that you can find it is nonetheless a very easy and understandable book. You will find that it groups topics together usually around a dialogue and then concentrates on certain grammar topics. Each section has some simple exercises to do straight after teaching an individual topic. These are not too complex, but help reinforce the learning.

I found that topics that more advanced grammar books had made too complex were much easier to understand here. I would recommend this book to any one doing AS/A2 and even GCSE. If you team this book with a more advanced grammar book as well it repays the extra investment.

4 out of 5 stars An excellent guide to Grammar for A level French students   September 19, 2003
10 out of 10 found this review helpful

This book should be on every A level French student's booklist.
It gives clear, concise expositions and explanations of the main grammatical points needed for A level study.
A couple of minor niggles:
The new edition has some errors in the answer key, where adjustments haven't been made from the first edition.
The groupings of areas covered in the chapters can be a bit arbitrary.
Otherwise, an excellent book.

5 out of 5 stars A user-friendly review of French grammar to A Level   September 17, 2000
6 out of 7 found this review helpful

There are explanations in English of the major areas of grammar, followed by practice exercises. Answers are included, making it suitable for private study. The grammar points are arranged according to themes which are rather arbitrary, but overall a very useful supplement to text books.
