4 out of 5 stars Classic comic strips showcased well   June 24, 2008
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

The 15th book in Titan's continuing line of James Bond graphic novels, The Paradise Plot reprints comic strips from the early 1980s. Originally published in the Daily Star, "The Paradise Plot" and "Deathmask" are reprinted here in their entirety. Unlike some of Titan's comic strip collections, the reproduction in this book is excellent. Presumably Titan had better source material this time, as even the fine lines have printed really well.

The artwork is by John McLusky, back on the strip after 16 years. The stories are originals by Jim Lawrence, who may not be an Ian Fleming but he handles it well.

Another two or three books and Titan will have collected every James Bond newspaper strip since 1958. If you're a Bond fan and/or a fan of newspaper adventure strips all of these books are worth your time.
