Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars excellent book from early hermit richard rolle   September 19, 2008
i very much enjoyed this book - it's a tale of early hermit Richard Rolle (by his own hand) and contains a few lovely details - such as when he decided to be a hermit he fashioned his own habit out of his father's rain coat and 2 of his sister's dresses..luckily a local squire took pity on him and bought him a proper one : )
it contains lots of advice and detail about love for Jesus and the "fire" in your heart in creates...there is abit in there about women and how wicked we are (ahem..) but i'll let that go because the rest of his narrative is lovely and shows true devotion to God.
A lovely read (not for faint hearted though...or feminists...)
God bless richard!
