 Home Tek Steam Mop Problem September 28, 2008
We have had this steam mop about 3 mnths and at first it worked ok although it didn't get all the dirt out of the pattern of our Kardine floor. We have used it 8 times since we got it but the last time no steam came out!
Reading the other reviews it seems to be a common and terminal problem with no solotions offered.
Accordingly I can NOT recommend this steam mop.

I bought this off a shopping channel just over a year ago. I love it. It cleans laminate flooring without leaving streaks and in my textured vinyl kitchen floor, it works a treat and gets rid of greasy spills with no bother. It does leave some water on the floor, but that dries up within about 5 minutes.
Like a few other reviews I will say that the power cord is too short, but that's no problem with an extension.
Mine too broke after 8 months. Rang Hometek who suggested trying to "tap" out a blocked air bubble and turn it upside down and shake it. That didn't work, so packed it off to where it was purchased after speaking with them, they paid for the return too. They replaced it with a brand new one, which is working fine. Have to add that when it was away, I realised how much I used it and missed not having it.
Buy one. And remember you have a warranty if things go wrong.

I purchased this mop as a busy working mum of 3 boys and a puppy. I was impressed with its cleaning ability however felt that it was a very slow way of cleaning my floors. I find it much quicker to use my Vileda mop and get the same results.
I also found that the floors were extremely wet after wards and took forever to dry.
On the whole...cleaning ability - good....speed - not so good.
I would not buy another one when this one breaks.

I was so excited when I bought this and have only had this product for 1/2 an hour so far. I was disappointed that it makes a whirring noise it felt the pump was broken. Did anybody else have a whirring noise. Also the floors were not bone dry as I was doing it although it was drier that a mop. Will keep trying and post another review later but if anyone is reading this that has one can you let me know if your makes a whirring noise.
