CAN'T DRIVE WITH OUT IT NOW!! May 15, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Excellent detailed road map and all the info you need for the roads. Only the 1 downfall is the size of the thing, its huge! but its huge for a reason and thats cos its packed with info on top of info. Who needs a satnav when you've got this.
Too heavy, too big, too cumbersome BUT great info on week bridges! February 2, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I regularly use the AA Trucker's Atlas Britain but often fustrated with lack of info on week bridges instead of just low ones. So, thought I'd give this one a go. Too darned big to carry round (no bag of mine is big enough..umm only my suitcase). If you're an owner-driver or have a regular wagon so can safely leave your kit in the overnight then it'd be ideal to have with you as a back up to check your route through before setting off but be warned it is SO big that a quick flick whilst your 'at the lights' is a near impossibility! Not helped by the hard cover. If the AA added the week bridges to their other map I'd throw this one away.
Excellent - Should be in every trucker's bag. January 13, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The level of information is far beyond any other atlas aimed at truckers that I've ever seen. As per the other reviews, plus stuff like if a fuelling station is open 24hrs or not (accurate at time of publishing of course).
I have the slightly heavier hardback version (not on amazon) for added durability.
Rugged, informative, accurate, excellent.
easy read September 12, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
thought i'd grab this one while on offer at half price. Brilliant buy woudn't have minded paying full price for it.It's so easy to read compared to smaller atlases. not only does it cover bridge heights it covers width + weight restrictions as well as a good selection of truck stops +overnight parking fees. The only problem I have with this atlas is the poor quality of the spiral binding [easily bends which could cause pages to tear when turning]other than this its a great buy.
AA Close-up Truckers Atlas Britain Review August 25, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
It's a good map book with some nice detail. The spring spine is weak and badly designed. It's a bit heavy for carrying around in a rucksack if you are doing agency work or changing vehicles every day. I wish they would make an A4 version! If you are in your own truck every day then I think this would be a good buy. Large scale maps can be a bit of a pain when you have to keep turning the pages over. Hence better spine needed and better quality paper would be good also.
