5 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT FOR NURSING!!!   August 17, 2008
I bought this book in my first year of nursing, and i am currently in my third year and it still comes in incredibly handy!!! Its basic layman's terms and bright images, make the most complicated anatomy subjects plain, simple and easy to remember! It takes every part of the body and brakes it down! Its great for interest and for learning! If you just want to make a quick reference to something it comes in great!! I urge all nursing students to pick one up, as it contains simple explanations to the questions you may feel embarrased to ask!!! Dont waste your money on books you'll never use again, spend it wisely and for 9.99, its a BARGAIN!!! BRILLIANT!

5 out of 5 stars An excellent A & P book   May 19, 2008

I love this book!
I am currently doing a nursing course. My A & P exams are within the next few days & I use this book for a lot of my revision alongside my lecture notes. I find the colourful diagrams especially useful when trying to learn all of the labels. I find it is a handy size to put in a bag & carry with me for any revision that can be done on the move or in a spare few minutes, it is easier to carry than a folder full of lecture notes. I have a larger A & P book at home too but it doesn't get used as much as this one. Hopefully it will see me through my 1st year nursing exams and into year 2!

5 out of 5 stars The A&P Bible!   February 20, 2008

For many years I have taught A&P using a variety of resources for the classes, then this book arrived and it replaced all the others for the students! It is compact, yet a definitive guide to all the systems, providing detailed diagrams along with information to complete each system.
Great all rounder, economic, small to carry and packed with information!

5 out of 5 stars Basic, but to the point with excellent diagrams.   January 22, 2008

I am a Biology degree student and used this along side a much more advanced a&p text as pre-lecture reading and a revision prompt. The explanations are clear and concise with simply brilliant illustrations. Every body system is covered briefly.

This book is easily accessible to many people; and a firm understanding of biology is not required to read this. Someone curious of the human body would not be put off by this book, and would hopefully be encouraged to read further.

However, this book is basic and does not cover everything; but for what it does cover and the methods used it is superb value and something useful for dipping in and out of for a quick refresher of anatomy.

5 out of 5 stars The most used book in my surgery!   July 28, 2007

I love this book! I bought it when I was still training as a GP, and despite now being a bit thumbed and well used it remains my favourite way of explaining things to patients.
It has two separate sections - the first part is all about anatomy and physiology in normality, and a smaller section at the back gives basic explanations for a number of disease states.
If you are looking to use this as an only textbook for a degree course in anatomy or physiology you will be disappointed - it does not go into sufficient detail for that. BUT if you want a decent and correct introduction to the overall scope you'll find it a delightful book. The diagrams are absolutely correct, and without fail I can always find a drawing to explain whatever I am trying to explain to a patient.
I can absolutely guarantee that when my current copy finally bites the dust I'll be buying another copy straight away!! Best fiver I've ever spent!
