5 out of 5 stars Top marks.   June 19, 2008

I highly recommend this book, it is great.
I did buy a couple of books on sewing at the same time, and found that I shouldn't have bothered.
This book is the only one I need. It contains everything and much more than the others I received.

The layout is excellent with colour photographs throughout.
The paper is a nice quality, white and glossy. (I can't stand the cheap yellowish paper you get in some books.)
It's an enjoyable book that will serve me a lifetime, unless my daughter nabs it, then I will definitely buy another.

Just the best sewing book I've bought! Absolutely packed with good, solid sewing instruction. From beginner to the more experienced, there's something in here to interest every home dressmaker.

Wonderfully presented and easy to follow, this book has given me new comfidence with my sewing machine!

This book covers everything you need to go from beginner to expert. I particularly liked the sections on taking measurements and tweaking paper patterns so that the finished garment fits perfectly. It's all explained very clearly with plenty of illustrations to follow. Highly recommended.

I found this book to be as it's title says:the most complete sewing book I own!As I am a beginner in sewing, every time I come accross a problem I'll look into the book and I'll find a solution to it.If I don't undrestand a sewing method I'll look at the pictures and there are lot's of them!In the front pages there are pictures and advice on the types of fabrics available and their washing instructions! I'm glad I own this book!!

5 out of 5 stars Really good sewing guide   September 19, 2006

This book is good, especially if you want to know specifically about dressmaking, rather than sewing home products. It is very comprehensive about materials and items you will need when completing dressmaking projects. It is good for beginners who want to learn how to make clothes, as it provides full details about parts of a sewing machine, machine feet, overlocker and how to intepret patterns. A good buy.
