Useful book for your holiday December 21, 2003 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Having just come back from four days in Boston, this book was my bible. Like a good guide book, you should read it before you go, and then keep it while you travel around. The maps are rubbish - as I write this review, Amazon are promoting a pop-out map to go with this, which I heartily recommend - but as a guide book it'll tell you where to go, where to eat, and how to do it all without any fuss. Definitely recommended.
Is it really hard to provide a simple map of Boston? May 29, 2002 4 out of 11 found this review helpful
All I was searching for was a map with a reasonable overview of Boston. What I found was a small peice of cardboard that had segments of Boston split up in different ratios making it incohrensible to determine what the city looked like or how one map related with another.
Amazingly helpful, a must have when visiting Boston. April 9, 2001 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I found this guide amazingly helpful. The street maps helped me to find my hostel and two cafes I wanted to visit, before I even left England. It details everything, even the bus numbers for excursions (it also advises that they may change). I am heading to Boston in June and I would not leave without this guide. I found this guide more user friendly than The Rough Guide to Boston. It details the main attractions in all areas and when it comes to shopping it even tells what each shops sells so you know exactly where to go before you arrive! The only complaint I have is that it didn't include the hostel I was staying in and it's one of only two in Boston.
