Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A lot of important details   August 24, 2008
I've been to Naples, Sorrento and Capri and this book helped me a lot finding the hot spots on the zone. Places to see, prices, transportation, maps, history facts... it is very complete and easy to use.

1 out of 5 stars incoherent travel guide   April 27, 2006

This is a surprisingly poor book - unusually for Lonely Planet it is split into themes e.g. "eating", "history" rather than places. This makes finding relevant information tedious - not that there is that much really useful information. You might expect the guide to tell you how to get to Rome by train and how long the journey would take - prepare to be disappointed.

The title is also misleading - I bourght the book for a holiday on the Amalfi coast: this area is dealt with in 1 small chapter, and seems to be an after-thourght. The consequence is that I need to buy another book....

Poor effort - I would avoid this book
