Inaccurate and unhelpful - hard work! May 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Considering that this was published in late 2007, it was so out of date and inaccurate. The symbols on the maps were incorrect in a couple of places, the layout of the book was extremely frustrating and it was more of a stress to keep remembering pages and reverting back for more information. There was next to nothing on accommodation and most restaurants for the evening were high end of the price range. I thought Lonely Planet would point to more affordable places to choose from.
It did, however, make the weekend lots of fun guessing what useless 'delights' we would find in the book day by day!
I have always bought Lonely Planet guide books in the past but having been put off by this one, am not so sure!
Stockholm explained May 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am always skeptical about buying guides for cities and countries. I decided to buy this guide on name alone as I had heard of Lonely Planet a couple of times. I was very impressed with the descriptions of places and the layout was fantastic with good easy-use maps. The holiday was extremely enjoyable with the help of this book and as Stockholm is best seen on foot I was able to see everything I wanted to and experience the culture as best as possible.
