5 out of 5 stars Enjoyable yet simple to follow   January 15, 2002

This is a simple book to follow that really is enjoyable. The plan seems quite sensible but more importantly it makes health ones goal, and doesnt focus on weight loss in isolation from health.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to follow and lively   September 7, 2001

Who knew that living in the city was so hard! Its good to see that at least one nutrition book addresses this. Its practical and I especially liked the menu ideas for eating out which I think I do too often!

5 out of 5 stars Really interesting and easy to follow   February 3, 2001

I loved this book. I got itbefore Christmas and have only just got into it. The theory is that pollution and chemicals in the city affect, and e make it worse for ourselves by eating and drinking all the wrong stuff. There is no emphasis on diet just for losing weight, just an emphasis on getting healthy. I feel that I have done just that and suggest you buy the book too.

5 out of 5 stars Informative book   December 16, 2000

I had seen a few newspaper and magazine pieces about this book and was given it as a gift from my secretary who obviously thinks I need to get healthy!

The books seemed to be written with me in mind - I have been doing all the wrong things, and Ian Marber has highlighted many ways that I can improve the way I have been feeling.

Its easy to follow, well written, clear, a little too simple at times but I assume thats either teh authors style ( no offence ) or what the readers want. I would have liked to have seen some more detail.

Having not paid any attention to my health for many years, this book has brought what I eat to the forefront of my mind, and having followed 60 % of the recommendations, I am feeling 60% better.

Highly recommended. I am looking forward to seeing the other ( first? ) book.

5 out of 5 stars Seema waxing lyrical about Food Doctor in the City   December 11, 2000

I picked up this Mind, Body and Spirit Book almost without caring whether it was good or bad -to me it was just nother overhyped book in this genre designed to make money with little care for the reader. I was wrong! The overall style is caring and informative and Ian Marber certainly proves to know his stuff. Without ever seeming to sound patronising or condescending I have been left wondering why oh why did I not see it before. Yes it all seems to make sense and I must confess that I have been following the advice given on health and nutrition specifially designed for the city slicker and feel a hundred no a million times healthier and happier.
