5 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction to SQL 2005   June 28, 2006

The release of SQL 2005 leaves any database professional with a big learning curve. This book is a great introduction to SQL 2005 and a very handy reference anyone who is already familiar with the earlier versions. A composition from multiple authors (all of whom are respected professionals in the SQL Server arena), it is very well written and consistently readable from cover to cover.

4 out of 5 stars An excellent starting place   January 16, 2006

One of the problems with SQL 2005 is its sheer size, how can one book give you all the information you need? Well, this book does a fine job of introducing you to SQL 2005.

In most places its technically deep enough and does a good job of introducing you to the new functionality.

This book is a must read first!
