Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Scrumptious!!!!   April 14, 2001
This is what i call an amazing book; not only does it give you lots and lots of delicious french recipes, but it also conjures up the lifestyle and customs of the french people in a splendid way. Set in the memories of the writer, the recipes are not there only to tempt you to start cooking straight away, but also to bring this culinary experience to life. Divided in sections dealing with starters, main courses, vegetable dishes (side dishes) and desserts the book provides endless insight in the varied culinary joys of france. Each section opens with an introduction of how the french live each part of a meal. Also essential are the many features in which Brennan deals with such subjects as the importance of the cheese course and the ritual of oysters on New Year's Eve for the french people. One cannot forget to mention the splendid photographs which bring the recipes and country to full life. Put simply, if u are searching for that French Cookery Book... don't search any further.
