The essential guide for campsites in France January 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like AJ, I've been using the Michelin Camping Guide for over 20 years; it's the definitive guide for campsites in France. Yes, it is essentially French, but that's not really a problem.
Yes, it is linked to the Michelin Maps (and the Guide Vert and ViaMichelin). I find this a real advantage.
The Best for French campsites November 17, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We've been using these guides for 20 years. The Michelin France guide gives the very best information on campsites, and is easy to crossreference with the guide and map. It is extremely comprehensive. No other publication comes close - it is a great shame that one is not available for Spain.
RIdiculously overcomplicated - avoid September 2, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I did read the previous review before buying but assumed he was going over the top. He wasn't. This Michelin guide is so ridiculously complicated it's almost useless. First be aware that the actual listing info is all in French. And believe it or not there are no addresses for the campsites - it gives the postcode but not the full address. Why would a guide book not include the address of somewhere it is recommending?
To get it to work properly you need to speak French to a good standard and then also spend more money on the relevant Michelin maps, as the campsites have a Michelin map reference. Otherwise avoid it at all costs.
