Give this book away! April 24, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I first read this book, probably when I was about 15, since then I have re-read it a few times, along with Run Baby Run, and more recently Soul Obsession. In the last few years I have bought 10-25 of the Cross and the Switchblade for use in prison work. Young lads will read them and we have reports of some being deeply touched by the fact that God cares for them, no matter what they've done. An excellent book telling the story of a true man of God. We should all take David's example and follow/seek our call just as courageously!
You won't put it down November 19, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I read it as a teenager, and am now ordering it for my teenage daughter. A gripping book which you won't be able to put down. A normal bloke gripped by the love of God has a big impact on youths caught up in gangs. And it's a fantastically written story too. And it's true!

Truly Inspirational June 11, 2003 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
This book really inspired and motivated me. It is full of testimonies of teenagers caught up in the drugs and violence of the gangs of new york and how they were saved from it all by the love of Christ and the faith, belief and perseverance of David Wilkerson and his team. It is very insightful into the things that go on within the gangs and certainly made me wonder what I could do to be a part of it, but also realise how difficult a task it is!
