5 out of 5 stars Excellent: theoretically very informative, and very practical also   November 2, 2006

Very good book. Interesting as well, in that it gives up-to-date theories about the mechanisms behind the phenomenon (psychology, biochemistry). It, therefore gives major cutting edge insight allowing you to assess the appropriateness of the approach that a psychologist or GP might have. It also gives a broad range of methods to address your problem, unlike what the previous reviewer said, and actually strongly encourages you take a multi-angle approach. It does not suffer from the author's previous involvement/writings on non-Internet related sexually compulsive behaviour, but fully covers precisely Internet (sex-)addiction.

I found this book very helpful. It is written plainly, and it is easy tounderstand the concepts.
One small problem is that it's adapted fromthe 12 step AA approach. So for me it became a little long winded andmuddled.
That said, this is probably the best of its type that I haveread. If you want to help yourself or a friend or loved one this is a goodplace to start.
