A concise but thorough core text September 6, 2000 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is the book that I used for a Masters degree in Space Science. it covers everything a budding space scientist with an interest in engineering spacecraft needs to know. Propulsion, the space environment and how it affects spacecraft design, celestial mechanics, subsystems and structures, telemtery etc. I found it very useful, as did my lecturers, for graphs of launch vibrations and good explanations. Other books have been said to be more through, such as Wertz and Larsons Space Mission Analysis, but Fortescue and Stark is far cheaper and more widely available, I would recommend it as a good text for university courses and for anyone interested in learning a little about everything to do with a spacecraft
