i'm not sure why the previous two reviewers are studying this book for the PRIMARY FRCA when it is actually MCQS for the FINAL exam! ah well, never mind.
the MCQ section of the FRCA exam is full of badly worded, ambiguous questions meant to split hairs on the topic being questioned. this volume, like all q bases, does this job very well. it is a collection of badly worded, ambiguous questions meant to split hairs on any topic. also included free are a set of answers, some of which are frankly wrong, and in desperate need of revising....considering this book was written 10 years ago in 1996. (ten years being a long time in any subject, more so in a rapidly evolving field like medicine).
so, if you want to re create the atmosphere of the exam....go for it! but please don't quote any of the answers in the viva.

If you're working for the Primary then you're gonna need to MCQs, I hate them with a passion. This book is a great starting point. I used this to begin my revision, revision I have know something for it to be revision call it vision. The question are relativley easy so they give you confidence, use the CD rom as this gives you break down of results and lets you know where your weak areas are, very useful. I will be buying the Qbase 2 soon. I've heard the questions are harder, OH MY GOD.

Q BASE is a vital aid for those appearing for Primary frca exam.The authors have tried to simulate the exact question bank of the Royal college and is a useful aid for mcqs.The CD is very very useful in that we can select the chapters and do questions on topics which we need.The questions are well selected and answers are very useful.Assessment of our answering technique can also be done with the facility that comes with CD, where we can see what percentage of guessed answers were true.This is the key point in this mcq exam where negative marks can be disastrous!!In short, it is a very very useful aid for mcqs for the primary frca.
