5 out of 5 stars Rough Guide Marrakesh Map   August 31, 2008
This map is an absolute must for anyone going to Marrakech. I recently went and not only would have been totally lost without it, but would have missed out on some of the treasures Marrakech has to offer. Street names are a rarity but this map makes up for the lack of them by being absolutely perfect - even through the maze of the souqs! Without it i may have had to resort to pay a few dirham to be guided by locals who either take you on a roundabout route to where you want to be, normally via their cousins tannery, or send you in completely the wrong direction and laugh at you as you go. Buy it before you leave or suffer the consequences!

4 out of 5 stars good map but a bit big...   July 9, 2008
A good map of the city, it covers most of the area and is very detailed and pretty accurate as far as we could tell.

The one downside we found was that it is a bit big for unfolding in the street. Especially given that one of the favourite pastimes of the locals is to direct you in the wrong direction after bombarding you with the questions of 'where you want' 'what you look for' etc etc.

Overall though, very comprehensive and useful.

5 out of 5 stars If you are going to Marrakesh - Buy This Map!!   May 28, 2008

This is the only map we found that showed the detail you need to successfully navigate your way around the city, in particular the Medina/Souks. The local tourist maps and the ones you get in guide books come nowhere close!

The detail on this map is fantastic and meant we could enjoy touring the city and seeing the sights (which are all well marked on the map) rather than keep asking for directions (which you get charged for a lot of the time!)

At first I thought this was expensive for a map of a city, but after visiting I would have payed ten times the price for it!

5 out of 5 stars The best map   March 28, 2008
We have just returned from Marrakech. So glad we took this map.We still managed to get lost from time to time but it was definitely better than any of the options available there. As a party of 8 I just wish we had taken more than one copy. Get one!

5 out of 5 stars ESSENTIAL - Don't go to Marrakesh without it !   February 13, 2008

This map is great - very detailed and reliable. The owner of the Riad we stayed in said 'Very good Map' and that is from a local who knows her way around. We saw many tourist struggling with other maps and many of them resorted to paying the local street urchins to give directions ... not a good idea as inevitably you go via their cousins tannery.

The map itself is waterproof and we ended up folding it many ways, stuffing it into bags etc and it's still looking good. The card cover has an 'easy peel' strip so you can remove it from the map and re-attach it when you want to re-pack it properly.

I purchased this map and the Lonely Planet guide from Amazon and would reccommend both - the map inside the Lonely planet guide is not much use for navigating your own way around Marrakesh.
