Amazon.co.uk Review
If you live and drive in London and the surrounding area, then AA Street by Street Greater London is an extremely useful item. One of the flagship titles in the AA's Street by Street range, it's a visually pleasing crystal-clear map that could help even the poorest map reader feel confident. Keeping clutter and trivia out, it makes room for the important and useful details, including one-way streets, car parks and petrol stations. There are three indexes: to towns and villages, to streets and to featured places--very useful this one as it includes almost any landmark one might ever want to find--not just hospitals and schools, but doctors' surgeries, sports and social clubs, places of worship, cinemas, trading and industrial estates, art galleries and museums.

The usual squinting in half-light to see street names in the index is eliminated with a very clear font in a good size. Perhaps best of all is the range: Greater London is given a remarkably generous definition, then stretched a bit further to include Gatwick airport. There's every street from Windsor and Amersham to Gravesend and Romford, from Hertford and Harlow to Crawley and Guildford. A4 in size and an inch thick, the book is robustly built for the hammering most drivers are likely to give it, although not such a good size for the walker or cyclist. --Rebecca Pickering

1 out of 5 stars Difficult to read   January 29, 2008

I have decided to return this book immediately as it would be necessaary to use a magnifying glass to find one's way around. In a car this would be impractical.

5 out of 5 stars Better than A-Z Maps   November 17, 2007

I highly recommend this map book.
It has all area information you would need for London Zones 1 - 6 in detail.
Better than the conventional A-Z map books as the layout is far more user/reader friendly. It has loads more information in it, such as public toilets and all the subways are clearly marked, not leaving you to squint to find them.
