Over-hyped August 25, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I was very disappointed with this book; I feel that it has been seriously over-hyped. Specifically my concerns are as follows: 1) There are 101 verbs, each with 36 verb forms. There is no indication of exactly how you are supposed to learn this lot in 1 day. 2) There is no apparent logic in the order that the verbs are presented. DIRIGAR (to direct) is placed at #1, whereas SER (to be) only comes at #46 and VENIR (to come) at #100. 3) The reviews are from such linguistic luminaries as someone or other from the Lipson Community College or Thurrock and Basildon College (who or what are they?). The largest review (back cover) comes from the Head of Spanish at Eton College. However you have to wonder at the impartiality - all the reviewers especially the one from Eton are also given thanks in the Acknowledgments section. 4) The cartoons that accompany each verb are very amateurish and poor. They are so unclear at times I often wondered what image they are supposed to be conveying. 5) The cover states that it is an "international best seller" and that it is "Award Winning". I wonder who granted the award - the head of the Somewhere-Nobody-Has-Ever-Heard-Of School?
In summary if you want a book that lists 101 common verbs, each with 36 verb forms, but no indication of alternative translations or usage then this book could be OK. However if you are going to spend 5.99 you would be better off buying a decent learner's dictionary which would probably have much the same information included as part of the package.
AT LAST - A Practical and easy-to-learn language book !! October 20, 2004 20 out of 25 found this review helpful
This book provides a colourful combination of both practical and visual illustration which help the student easily absorb the meaning of verbs and it's done through entertaining and humourous illustrations, structured language techniques and an interactive website linked to the contents of the book. At last a book that is fun 'Learn 101 verbs in a day'is the best language resource to get your understanding off the ground and will then remain a fantastic reference as you progress.

This book is easy to use and a great deal of fun. I have used it with my family as well as in my spanish class and they have all taken up the idea. I could not grasp the verbs until I found an easy way to remember them. Now I can be understood when we go on hoilday, and the best thing is that it was easy.

I have tried many approaches to Spanish learning but this was simple fun and effective with beautiful colour illustrations and easy to use colour-coded verb tables. A unique way of learning a language. Highly recommended.
Amazing September 13, 2004 21 out of 24 found this review helpful
Within just 2 days of using this book I actally started to speak spanish, it really is amazing!!!!!! I could recall each verb with certainty and even start to use the conjugations. This has been the most usefull language book I have bought as all the other grammar books bored me with their typical mundane format.
