3 out of 5 stars Nice but pricey   April 2, 2006

Works quite well, but I fear I am learning "Greek for commentators" eg the boy is going to kick the ball, the boy kicks the ball, the boy has kicked the ball...
Or perhaps this is "greek for spies" eg (forgive me for using phonetic greeklish here) To kokkino skeelos eenay katu apu to trapezi ie the red dog is under the table.
Good and fast for learning vocab and pronunciation but takes a long time to get to what in other courses would be the basics like "my name is fred" and I'd like a cup of tea please". Also very heavy on the present progressive and present perfect tenses as you might expect when relying on describing photographs and cartoons.
For the money I would have expected a lot more, like video clips for example. The software is pretty basic though very simple to use, and having checked out other languages, they use exactly the same examples in the same order, so basically they have used the same course for about twenty languages, just with different words. Cunning.
If this software was 10% of the price - which it really should be - it would score five stars as the learning some greek bit works. If it had proper conversational greek and less descriptive stuff it would also score 5 as it would be worth the price tag, and greek teachers everywhere would be out of a job.
