CharmingAugust 28, 2008 This is a delightful CD and I can't do more than echo the previous reviewer. The voice as an instrument is beautifully used and portrayed. Well worth buying just to hear.
The only minor problem is that this CD is mono not stereo. You may find that (as I did) that disconnecting one loudspeaker provides a much more satisfactory listen. Your amp may have a balance control which will save you the bother of messing with speaker wires.

We are fortunate indeed to live in times when we can listen to a top composer conducting his own work! Villa-Lobos brings such strength and power to each of these; one could lose oneself in listening.
Victoria de los Angeles does the aria in Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, and for this alone, it is worth buying this CD.
