There could be more to the Zen Stone but there isn't November 5, 2008 Yes, battery life... mine went dead after less than a year of usage which is disappointing. The logic of the navigation on the Zen Stone is frustrating; meant to be intuitive it is in fact a cluttered and often unresponsive effort which the designer could have avoided. It comes with no clip - I understand this is part of the 'pebble' design but from a practical point of view (i.e. when in the gym or on the move),and for something so small, a clip would have been highly useful. Following the premature `death' of the Zen Stone I am now opting for a Sandisk Sansa Clip which hopefully will prove a more long lasting choice.
Not as good as its predessor without the microphone September 29, 2008 After a year of abuse the display on my old stone 2gb finally died, so I bought the new improved model with the microphone. It has all the good features of the old one - reasonable sound quality and its incredibly easy to use. It also has the bad features of the old one - inability to shuffle properly, and it really does need recharging quickly. I don't really see the purpose of the mike - perhaps its a gimmick supposed to appeal to kids, as but they'll insist on having an i-pod anyway due to peer pressure, its a wasted feature in my opinion. I use my stone when I'm out running - the new model is far too bulky, so I've (sadly) given in and bought a shuffle - which does what exactly what it says it will and doesn't need recharging as often as the stone. If you're considering buying this and want it for the gym or for running outside, reconsider and buy the original stone (or a shuffle if the feature is important to you)
Good performance but the shuffle is useless September 25, 2008 This player works fine, battery life is pretty good is used regularly, but the shuffle is hopeless. Basically every time you switch the player on the shuffle starts from the same place. It took a while to spot this but then it becomes so irritating. I checked it out with Creative thinking that there was maybe a software issue but there wasn't - it's just the way the unit behaves. Unbelievable.

I had to send this back yesterday after having it for 2 weeks.I had to reset it 5 times within the first 2 days.It got 'stuck' playing a song 2 days ago whilst I was using it in the gym, I couldn't even turn it off or reset. Save yourself some money and time.
