Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
All the features of the iPod nano now come in an even more compact form ? with video functions to boot!Apple proudly presents the new and improved version of its nano player: the iPod nano, witha bold new designand a larger, brighter colour screen ?but that?s not all!The iPod nano offers a video function for viewing your favourite films in exceptional quality thanks to its unprecedented pixel count (204 dpi instead of 163 dpi for earlier Apple models). And the iPod nano continues to push the envelope for multimedia entertainment, with the ability to play video Podcasts!Even the interface has been modified to make it even more user-friendly and intuitive. The Cover Flow function, for example, displays the album cover of all the music titles stored in the player?s memory, so you can flip through your music library and find your favourite tracks quickly and easily. You?lleven be able to download games onto your iPod nano to serve as a distraction during those long commutes. It has a range of basic functional features, including a calendar, international clock and a stopwatch, too!But what is more astounding than all these features is the fact that the iPod nano is even more compact than its predecessors! But have no fear - its anodized aluminium and stainless steel body reflects the same stylish design that Apple iPods are known for, and the sound quality is still as amazing as ever! Let yourself go, with the iPod nano!

5 out of 5 stars Superb   June 26, 2008
This is a superb product at a great price. I've really enjoyed watching films on it and 8gb is more than enough space to throw in a few music albums too. The screen is bright with a resolution that makes it comfortable to watch for extended periods. After previously owning an iPod with Firewire, I've not found the USB cable an issue - it's still a quick transfer.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent & very easy to use   June 18, 2008

My first MP3 and it's great. V easy to use, good sound quality, black finish looks nice. I hate all standard ear pieces which fall out so bought black Sennheiser comfortable ones to go with it. V impressed with amount of music and photos the 8GB stores (worth paying the small extra to get this largest capacity Nano). Size and weight are excellent, screen is clear. Good options available eg bass reducer to adjust the type of sound. So quick and easy to switch between playlists. The only downside is that I'm now addicted to playing the card game and quiz - I have no life left! Apple really should supply a power charger with it, for when people travel or don't want to sync to computer each time charging - I bought lightweight one via Amazon for about 4 - no need to spend 19 on the one on Apple's site. Buy this Nano, it really is good.

5 out of 5 stars fabulous!   June 17, 2008
I've never own an ipod before, I've never wanted to be part of the whole 'ipod clique'. But when my 5year old mp3 player decided to give up on me, I must admit I was drawn in by the flashiness of the new ipod nano.

I am now soooo glad I bought it. I love it! It is by far the cutest thing I've ever seen and it takes a lot to impress me. Its now with me where ever I go. I've got my favourite movies, pictures and tv shows on it and it can still hold loads of songs.

The best purchase ever! Couldn't be happier! Don't believe the negative stuff people say about them...not had any trouble with it whatsoever.
I didn't really like having to get used to using itunes instead of my old software, but its a small price to pay.

Seriously buy one! will be the smartest thing you ever do!

5 out of 5 stars I love my Nano   June 15, 2008
I previously only had a Panasonic MP3 player which are not available in the UK, so I am new to iPods. I'm really impressed with my Nano, the discrete Nano holds way more music than the Panosonic and is easier to use. The Nano combined with a Bose portable SoundDock means that I can listen to all my favourite tracks both inside and outside my home. The Cover Flow is impressive but not all album covers are available. The Nano also has the option of adding the lyrics to a track but this means finding the lyrics yourself then cutting and pasting them to the track. The only minuses is that the Nano does not have an integral radio so you have to buy this as an accessory (my Panosonic had an integral radio and voice recorder) and that it doesn't have the option of black headphones (white ones are too obvious). On the whole I would recommend this as a purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Really pleased   June 10, 2008
This was an impulse purchase replacing my venerable mini (bought in launch week) and a more recent shuffle. The advantages are obvious compared to the earlier versions so I won't mention them.

I am extremely pleased with the battery life and the screen brightness (even through a black SwitchEasy "Biscuit" case). Watching video is surprisingly good despite the small screen. There's always something better around the corner from Apple but I am very happy with this for now.
