5 out of 5 stars If you buy one psychiatry book this year - make it this one.   April 6, 2005

Covering psychiatry from A to Z this book is indeed an essential for every student, trainee and even the experienced psychiatrist. Subjects ranging from the arcane to the obvious leap out with clarity. The authors' style is concise yet inspiring.

Theoretical aspects from psychoanalysis to the dopamine hypothesis are covered with attention to 'real-world' psychiatric applications. This text succeeds where others have failed in terms of ease of use and being pocket-sized!

If you're a foundation year trainee-in-waiting then don't hesitate to get in line for this essential 'road-map' for your psychiatric post. As someone who is about to sit their membership I have already found it invaluable.

Highly recommended!
