This book starts with full Kenya map on page 3. First 72 pages deal with getting started with history, culture, tribes of Kenya, environment and Safaries. Next few pages deal with wildlife seen, pictures of animals and birds and food and drink. Then the book goes on to different areas of Kenya. These should be read as referance. Once you decide where to travel, do check with internet about lodges, hotels, roads and maps.
Last 55 pages deal with do's and don'ts, transport and health issues. These are must read. Last 10 pages deal with swahili and some common phrases to learn. These will help you communicate with natives, even though everyone speaks good English.
The whole book has wonderful photos throughout, with maps and street maps of towns.
I would reccomend this book before travel, so that you may prepare yourself well. Ideally, I would reccomend travelling with a reputable company. You can also tailor make your holidays with some of these companies. Do not drive there, especially at night. Take a taxi, if needed. Remmember most flights arrive in Nairobi at night. Nairobi is only 20 mts from Jomokaneyatta International Airport and Nairobi has some excellent hotels.
Kenyans are very friendly people, but use caution just as you would at home in our towns at night.
Having born in Kenya and travel there very regularly, I would reccomend Kenya as a wonderful place for wild spaces and wildlife.
Read this book and ENJOY.
