USEFUL January 4, 2005 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This book is much more useful than the actual textbook used for the course, which skims over information. I found that this book went in depth, but in a way that you can actually take the information in thanks to the colourful diagrams and double page spread layout. However, the book has no answers for the exam style questions at the back- why? How can you check your progress when there are no answers? Otherwise it is an extremely good resource for anyone doing OCR a level biology- use this, AVOID BIOLOGY 2!
fantastic learning and revision tool for A2 biology students November 24, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This text book was absoultely fantastic, as an A2 biology student it helped and explained every topic in the detail required. Currently we are using the OCR A2 biology textbook, but it was not detailed and was very vague and hence i looked for an alternative textbook to learn from. Topics such as respiration etc, was covered significantly in this the text book and i learnt everything from this text book. I would recommend this book to anyone studying the OCR A2 Biology syllabus as it covers everything needed for the exam. It is fantastically presented- it was colourful, had a lot of diagrams and photographs and explained perfectly. There are also summary tests at end of subunits of chapters and examination questions at the end. I highly recommend this book.
