5 out of 5 stars This became one of my "bibles" on moving to France   August 3, 2001

Certainly not for a beginner but fot those wishing to speak French in a proper grammatical way. It has proved invaluable to me and my husband over the last two years that we have been living in France. There is also lots of good helpful advice in other areas of the French language.

4 out of 5 stars V useful   May 18, 2001

I never know which prepositions to use with which verbs and this book is excellent for that. It has tonnes of examples and a section at the back on using verbs & prepositions in idiomatic expressions. Very good

3 out of 5 stars For those with a good understanding of English grammer   January 26, 1999

Unless you have sufficient knowledge of English grammer this book will not be that useful. The verb conjugations are not translated into English. Not a book for the beginner.
