I bought this book for going to Disneyland paris in 2005 - having never been out of the UK before and wanting to make the best of my time in Disney I invested in the book - IT WAS FANTASTIC. It gave helpful information that was always relevant - my son loved the section about short cuts to the 1st ride of the morning - it worked without fail. The hotel section was a real boost and it really helped with planning - we did not queue for more than 10 mins for any rides in the 3 days we were there. We used the same book this year and again as people were complaining about the queues I was sat there thinking 'What queues' It was also helpful that he inclued a range of ages in his book so it was relevant for my 8yr old I am planning to go to Florida next year an I already have my eyes on his guide for there!

This book is fantasic and if you have found this book then you are halfway there!!
The book is so detailed it covers everything!! All the information that is required for you to plan the perfect trip is in this one book.
The book covers all the rides, ratings and how long the queues approx would be. Also highlights the rides where you can use fast pass. Maps are provided within the book and there is also further details on Disney Village for restaurants and other things to do like going to paris and shopping outlet.
I had alrady booked my hotel before getting this book but the details on each of the hotels is very good and can help you decide the best hotel if you havent yet decided.
Finally, if you get this book it will def put you in the mood to go! The book has so many great pictures and so easy to read that you will be counting the days to go.

This was bought on recomendation of a web site. I was very interestd in the descriptions and planning. I live in Spain so the descriptions of how to get there weren't for me but they are very detailed . There are lots of insights and tips on planning.
There are explicit details of the restaurants and hotels so you have a clear view of what you want to book before you contact a travel agent.
Things have changed since the book was bought out but there will be an updated version bought out in 2006. The 20 % off voucher for Disneyland Paris Planet Hollywood paid for the book itself without all the advice .
For anyone who hasn't been before this is a must buy and for folks like me who have been it is a good buy to read other people insights.

Useful book, all the essential detail, though perhaps a little too much descriptive detail in places which can be too much to digest until you've actually seen the attraction. Good info on places to eat, perhaps a little more could have been said on where to avoid (having been to Disneyland Paris before, there ARE restaurants that should not be eaten at)and for a first-timer I think more could have been said on those types of places. I like the thrill ratings, and also the guidance on suitabilty of rides for all ages is good. Overall definitely worth reading this book, but I would suggest reading another before deciding which of the books is the one to take with you.

We took this book to Disneyland Paris this summer (July 2005) as our main guide and found it very useful. When we followed its advice, it usually proved spot-on. When we chose to ignore its advice, we usually regretted it. The book is small enough to fit in a daysac, the indexing is good, and the sections are the right length: enough to cover the required detail, but short enough that you can swot up over breakfast before you set off and then dip in during the day.You should be aware that the 2004-2005 edition of this book was already a little out of date in July 2005 (examples: parade time in the Studios had changed; the Fast Pass system has changed to allow you to hold simultaneous passes on different rides). Of course, it's impossible to keep a book of this type 100% up to date and these are minor details. The author's style took a little time to adjust to, as his attitude to the Disneyland experience is almost unremittingly positive and uncynical. Also, some of the ideas he suggests are not going to fit everyone's budget (after all, many of us feel that the cost of the entry tickets is plenty already). Given the depth of advice on everything else, I felt that one thing lacking in the book (and this is why I can't award it five stars) was more guidance on getting the best value for money when buying your tickets. For example, how many people realise that an Annual Pass may work out cheaper than a three-day Hopper? (Disney may have adjusted the rules since our visit, and it depends on your family composition, but you need to take into account the free parking and the 10% discounts that the Annual Pass gives you.) And how many people know that you can easily upgrade your hopper to an Annual Pass in the Park, by paying the difference --- but you _must_ do this on the day you arrive to get the full upgrade value of your Hopper.
