What a brilliant book October 21, 2008 I am only halfway throu this book but so far i just cant put it down, i wasnt sure if i would like it at first but i love it.
Fantastic Read October 19, 2008 Cecelia Ahern is a fantastic writer and I would definately recommend her to anyone who is interested in romantic-comedy type books. She writes really well and the storyline was great.
However, it was a bit confusing at the beginning when you didn't know what was going on, but it soon got really interesting and funny. The relationships in it are really complex and I think that is what makes the book work so well.
Thanks for the wonderful story Cecelia ! October 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I so enjoyed this book, it is my fave book by Cecelia so far, what a wonderful story, I loved the daughter/father relationship, it was so funny and heartwarming, I highly recommend it. Look forward to The Gift.
Terribly dull ... October 8, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this book after I saw the film "PS, I love you", and was expecting to enjoy this book, but what a disappointment. It is poorly written, extremely dull, nothing happens, repetitive and a true struggle to get through. I did finish it, I wish I hadn't wasted my time though.
Good read, but ... September 28, 2008 I had heard a radio interview that the author had done regarding this book, so seeing as it was half price in woolies, i decided to get it! To be fair, i thought the begining was a bit rushed, and the ending a bit bodged up, if you know what i mean? Its quite a way into the book, before you know how she managed to have her accident, and the ending seems as if it was thrown together, maybe to meet a deadline? However, i have to say the idea is intresting, my hubby thought it was freaky. There were times when i was laughing out loud, but for the life of me, i coundnt get my hubby to see what was so funny - i have to point out he is someone who finds the simpsons highly entertaining tho..... Joyce's dad is a complete gem, and the bit where she is on the telly live, i was nearly falling off my chair laughing. Buy and enjoy, by all means.
