How i got a degree November 1, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Catch 22 saved my degree. In the library and bored of studying, I would turn to a page, smile, laugh, put things in perspective, and get back to studying. When things are getting you down, pick this up. Its look at life's absurd quirks helps you get back on track.

I read this book on a recommendation. I found it slow to start up. I didn't relate to any of the characters. I found it absurbed and just couldn't set myself in the scene at all. It is dry and I did giggle mainly at some of the stupidness of it all, but maybe I was expecting too much. As a 25 yr old girl it was not for me.
War is life at some point we all have to escape! September 18, 2006 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
The endless essay writing and reviewing at secondary school completely turned me off of books, especially those with the kind of classic status, such as Catch-22. I had no idea what the book was about, but I have always used the phrase, so I decided to give it a go. Now I think it's brilliant, and I'm glad to say it has really turned me back onto reading again!
I could only describe the book as a view from all perspectives!
Okay September 8, 2006 6 out of 18 found this review helpful
Having looked at some of the reveiws for the book i was bracing myself for the masterpiece that everyone was going on about. I was however somewhat dissapointed the book was okay and some of the chapters were very entertaining. I did however feel there were too many characters that confused the story and made you think where is this going. The few characters that you did get to know you do empathise with and feel involved but the book is not a definitive must read as others have stated, the older generation maybe but the 20 crowd should think twice.
Stick with it July 30, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Stick with this book, it took me three goes to read it the first time and five years later it's still my favourite book. It's twisted and hilarious. Entire pages of it are worth memorising.
Buy it, read it, love it, it's fantastic.
