5 out of 5 stars We need more of this !   April 6, 2005

This book had me laughing out loud.

India Knight's best tried and tested shops and internet sites (and a few bad ones to note) in one book. If only we all had the forethought to write down our best shopping discoveries!

India also fills us in on her life of shopping, and whether we are born with a love of shopping or are nurtured that way.

As the book is a few years old now, I'm having trouble getting a pair of her highly recommended belly-buster knickers (the correct spelling is Nancy Ganz, not Gantz!) Shame.

I will be at the front of the queue if another India Knight book comes out.

5 out of 5 stars A Shoppers delight!   January 10, 2005

If you love shopping, this book is a dream. India Knight is funny and has included some great little stories about growing up. There are great tips, great websites and ideas. Sad to say, but a bible for professional shoppers alike! Shallow us? PAH!

5 out of 5 stars My best random purchase of the year so far...   September 14, 2004

I bought this book on a whim, (I am exactly that kind of shopper), and wouldn't hesitate to advise everyone else to snap it up, especially now that it's available in paperback. The best thing about it is that there really is something in it for everyone - I'm positive you don't have to even ENJOY shopping to appreciate India Knight's sense of humour and confessional yet practical style. It's handily indexed, so you don't have to read it cover-to-cover - although trust me, you'll want to. Based on my family's interactions with it, women of all ages can expect to become intrigued, or perhaps, like me, swiftly addicted. Men, (be they husbands, boyfriends, sons, brothers or friends) looking for a treat for themselves or a well-chosen bargain/indulgence for the women in their lives may well find this an indispensible volume. Similarly, I prize it for having sorted out my Dad-present problems for life!!

5 out of 5 stars Totally yummorama   July 22, 2004

Oh wow, this is one of the best books ever - it's not just a pleasure to read but also a sheer joy to own. Every page is packed with useful information, not just in terms of the shops listed but also within India Knight's fabulous narrative which runs throughout - narrative which is not just informative but at times both deeply touching and incredibly funny. She deserves every accolade for this work of art.

I recommend the hardcover version as it looks and feels as yummy as all the gorgeous products recommended within.

As this book is perfect for 'dipping into' it will take pride of place next to my loo so all visitors can share its excellent secrets and I hope buy it too!

5 out of 5 stars The Shops - Unputdownable   February 22, 2004

One of the best books I have read in a long time. India Knights' meandering style of prose is addictive. I am half way though and am already starting to feel disappointed that I will finsih it soon. Another instalment is surely on its way. Perfect to buy for your selves or as the author says anyone who needs to shop.
