5 out of 5 stars Why you need to read this book   January 4, 2004

The fact that Argos is right up there alongside Fortnum's speaks volumes for this glorious book. I've just spent a wonderful hour on the internet marvelling at one of her website recommendations. This book is my new best friend and I've bought it for all my closest friends this Christmas. Please bring out volume 2 in time for Christmas 2004, I almost can't wait. For anyone whose Mother made them try on slacks in Marks and Spencer when they were 12 yrs old, this will have you laughing out loud. Sheer heaven.

I love this book...got it for Christmas and couldn't put it down. It speaks to me ! In the book she says she was sad to realise she had nearly finished writing it...me too! I could have read pages and pages more! I love her style; this book is littered with personal anecdotes about her life but is so helpful for gift ideas and just for people who love shopping ot find those little shops that no-one really knows about (until now mind you...) I wish I'd written this book. I would say tho, that altho India does make reference to this; but we're not all rich and can afford to spend a fortune on things, OR live in London...unfortunately....

One of the best non-fiction books I've read in a long time!!! If you like Domestic Bliss you will adore this one. It's ironic and easy to read, the tips are excellent, shops recommendations are useful for those who live outside the UK - this book has a HUGE collection of internet addresses of the shops.

Words cannot describe how fntastic this book is: Funny, informative, descriptive. A Bible for the modern woman - and her man!
I love India Knight. I love how she writes and what she says. Indeed a phenomenon - not that its saying anything that any self respecting shopaholic doesn't know already, but its so much fun!
I am recommending it to ALL of my friends!

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely fabulous   November 14, 2003

This book is everything the other reviewers say and more. The funniest thing about it (apart from the fact that it is very funny indeed) is that I feel like it's my friend. I know this sounds mad, but I really love this book, in the same way that I really love my favourite handbag. I want to carry it around with me and consult it whenever I feel like I need cheering up. There's something sort of magically charming about it - you know how you have a favourite book when you're young and it gets all tattered and dog-eared because you can't stop reading it and take it everywhere with you? This is one of those. I haven't felt this way about a book since I was a teenager, and I'm a 35 year old woman!
