1 out of 5 stars She's a charlatan - not a doctor   July 21, 2005

1. She's not a Doctor (she bought her qualification from an unaccredited American college for a few grand). Her claiming the title "Dr" is an offence to anyone who has spent years of effort earning that honour.

2. She knows nothing about nutrition. The British Dietetic Association say "it is obvious she hasn't a clue about nutrition. In fact her advice, if followed to the limit, could be dangerous."

3. She talks through her backside. John Garrow, professor emeritus in human nutrition at London University, says that "In my view Dr Gillian McKeith is a charlatan".

4. Don't buy her books and give money to a quack. Eat a balanced diet, exercise, have fun - you will lose weight and feel good.

1 out of 5 stars A fool and their money...   January 27, 2005

This book is a fine example of how to take money from fools. "Dr" McKeith is a fantastic entrepreneur, and is highly skilled in taking money from people whose weights exceed their I.Q.s. By replacing "sensible exercise and plenty of fruit & veg" with "blue green algae" and advising people whom she hasn't met that they suffer with allergies, she has successfully shown that lack of knowledge in a field is no hinderance to fooling those who know even less. I applaud her actions; if you're stupid enough to buy this book, she's clever enough to deserve your cash.

4 out of 5 stars Feel good with this book   August 16, 2004

Who's afraid of eating algae? Really this is a great book for those looking to bring more of a balance to their diet. I had a few minor health problems and found almost immediate benefit with the suggested foods from the good doc. Dont look to this book if dieting for you is something you do on before your hols, this is for life.

4 out of 5 stars You Are What You Eat's perfect companion   July 7, 2004

If like me you are taken by the benefits of food and find your self uncharacteristically looking at root vegetables in the supermarket, becasue the magazine said you read last week told you it boosts your immune system or holding your nose and gulping down a pint of Guiness just so you're getting enough iron- then this is for you. Without sounding like a t.v. ad- all the benefits, half the fuss
