4 out of 5 stars The Price of Paradise   December 29, 2006
3 out of 24 found this review helpful

'The Price of Paradise' finds the 10th Doctor and Rose coming to the rescue of a group of explorers who find themselves crash-landed and under attack from four-armed ape-like aliens on a mythical 'paradise' planet. This is a well-paced and readable adventure, although the rather obvious premise (a planet that fights off alien presences like a biological entity under attack) means the novel never really developes into anything that will satisfy older readers. Still, a pleasant enoguh romp with some nods to 'Planet of Evil' for the classic series fans, and by dint of being Colin Brake's least ambituious book this actually ends up being his most enjoyable Doctor Who novel yet.
