4 out of 5 stars A book for everybody   March 28, 2001

I discovered how little we know ourselves. This is a book every single woman should read before too late and, also, this is a book every MALE should know about.Let's have it free at schools!

4 out of 5 stars Grrr!   January 8, 2001

Every baby girl should be sent home from hospital with their mum and a copy of this book. Passionate, fiery ;intellectual but earthy, Germaine Greer was the original and best exponent of girl power. Go Gerry!

4 out of 5 stars still relevant after nearly 30 years!   May 15, 1999

this book was written long before i was born, but i was shocked to see how little society has moved on. women in 1999 still face many of the same obstacles as in the 1960s and 1970s. greer writes with such passion and humour that you can't help agreeing!
