Great but..... November 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent little Flash Drive. The only downside is the useless metal ring for putting on a keyring. It is too flimsy. Sandisk aren't the only people producing brilliant drive with no safe way of attaching the drive. These thinga are meant to keep your data safe, so why dont they design a nice solid part with a hole in to keep it safe??? I have the same problem with my Sandisk titanium drive.
Stopped working after 30 days... November 1, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
...just outside Amazon's 30-day return window. So I am now having to deal with Sandisk (in the USA) to organise a return and warranty replacement. I have had several USB drives and I have never had one fail, until this Sandisk, my first 8 Gb model. The drive is no longer recognised by any PC.
Readyboost October 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just to say purchased this for my Dell PC and readyboost works fine, just select the amount of memory upto 4Gb that you want to use. It does speed the pc up for me so is well worth the tenner spent.
It does what it says on the box! October 26, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8GB U3 Readyboost Flash Drive. I bought this flash drive recently for the U3 Portable applications and file storage, and it works well. The ReadyBoost with Vista also appears to work fine; I don't really know how much it speeds up the system. ReadyBoost can be set to use up to 4GB of the memory, leaving the rest for the portable applications and storage. The portable applications are great; the PIM is good for remembering birthdays! Firefox is good for making favourites portable, etc. In terms of value for money it is more 5 star than 4. Time will tell how robust it is for 5 stars. The system Information for windows is a great portable utility: apart from anything else, I didn't realize how many usernames and passwords were so easily discovered! I've made my system a little more secure now!
Does the job, quick and easy October 25, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this to be used as a flash drive (for my IPRO course). Its great, works perfectly, and seems to do the job.
The flashing red light is a nice feature. Plug and play. Just under 8GB storage.
Deisng is good - however outer plastic case is notthat good - will do though. But - if you one of those people that bangs things, then I would not buy this.
ReadyBoost. Another amazoon user commented that the storage device can not be used with windows vista readyboost. I dont use the readyoost feature on my windows vista ulti ulimate machine (read carefully and windows vista readyboost feature is good for the the system - and can even make it slower).
For the people out there that do use ready boost - THEN STOP! Read carefully - this product will not work with the readyboost feature as it is over the 4GB limit. Even though the item description says that it will work with the readyboost feature, it won't.
Overall - a good 8GB storage device for those carefully selected users!
